Island Surfboards is Monty Smith, who has been in the surfing industry in Puerto Rico since 1970.  He started building boards and selling tees in June of 1970 in the "Puerto Rico Island Surf Shop" on Wilson Ave. in Condado, then moved to Island Surf Shop & Island Water Sports in Isla Verde.

Monty is now in the process of shaping and designing surfboards from a modern, high tech surfboard factory and is offering shapes from epoxy long Boards to short four fin fishes and of course everything in between.

Vida Marina, Caribbean Center for the Reduction of Aquatic Debris - Who are we? The mission of the Center is to reduce the amount of aquatic debris in Puerto Rico. The Center operates from the University of Puerto Rico in Aguadilla with help of volunteer support groups from other 5 UPR units (Arecibo, Bayamón, Humacao, Ponce, and Utuado). The Center is trying to reduce the problem of aquatic debris with three components: education and outreach, recovery and recycling and marine debris monitoring.
