The West Coast of Puerto Rico offers up much more than surfing.  Diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, waterfalls, coastal horseback riding, golf, parasailing, zip lining, along with tours of the La Parguera bioluminescent bay and the Rio Camuy Caves, are all within a one hour drive.  There aren't going to be many days when there's no surf anywhere, but if you need to take a break, explore your options or book through a vacation planner.
